Weekly Roundup #16

Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.

Another week, another roundup. A surprise single from The Academic, and a fresh batch of indie discoveries.

Easy On The Eyes - The Academic

Oh, how we love The Academic. An indie band that can’t seem to do no wrong, originally coming up with smash debut Tales From The Backseat. As they tour album number 2, recent surprise single Easy On The Eyes is a glimpse into a new sound which is perhaps on the horizon.

Time - Tom Hewitt

We’ve caught Tom live a few times on the Birmingham live scene, his impressive and mesmerising performances always taking us aback. Hewitt’s latest single Time hit the world a week ago. Give it a listen, he’s understated, talented and certainly onto something.

Mere Mortal - DEADLETTER

After seeing these supporting Wunderhorse, we couldn’t believe we’d slept on DEADLETTER for this long. Hooked on their epic blend of instruments, Mere Mortal is the freshest in their catalogue, jam-packed with a modern take on alt-rock.

Fast One - Nixer

Nixer has a record on the way titled I hit the town and the town hit me back. Ahead of the release, we’ve been captivated by a string of fast-paced singles, particularly Fast One.

What Can I Say After I’m Sorry? - Blossoms

Working with Jungle and The Coral, Blossoms return with a brand new single What Can I Say After I’m Sorry?. Retaining the classic 80’s synth-led sound that’s kept them at the forefront of the indie charts, the tune is a step away from before, offering up something fresh and exciting.

Now, it’s your turn. Give it a spin, and tell us what you think on Insta or X.

See you next week!
