After selling out Camden Assembly on the back of a cult demo IT’S OVER, Emergency Break is back with their first studio release, EVERYTHING YOU MAKE I BREAK.

Released on 7th June 2024 independently, it sets the ambitions high for where this London six-piece wants to go. EVERYTHING YOU MAKE I BREAK draws influences from Brit Pop, Blues and Punk and is the perfect translation of their sweaty live shows to the studio through fuzzy guitars and catchy songwriting.

Their fresh take on the post-punk scene is infectious and exhilarating. If you’re a fan of Oasis, Fontaines DC, The Black Keys and/or any rock n’ roll bands from the early ’00s, you might find solace in Emergency Break’s rough-and-ready tunes.

The band have a lot of pent-up energy and these early singles see them finding their style. One thing is for sure, they know how to put on a show, and it comes across magnificently here.

While appearing sometimes to try too hard, which can be perceived as gimmicky, Emergency Break’s doggedly persistent ethic might be the very thing that propels them forward. It was to our surprise when we found out there was no hidden major label fuelling the DIY marketing being fed from the band, which is often the case for dynamic artists who seemingly spring out of nowhere. They’ve sussed out the magic combination of charisma and hard work in the industry pretty quickly.

Releasing a homemade documentary, designing their own Spotify playlist cover, creating a festival and conducting a sunglasses-indoors unplugged set reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys, it’s clear these boys are putting a lot of time into fulfilling their rock-star dreams.

From meeting in education, the band was formed in 2021 and consists of Leo, Joe, Ewan James, Fin and Oran. Speaking about the track, they said:

"We're so excited to finally release our first studio-cooked single. EVERYTHING YOU MAKE I BREAK is the perfect introduction to our band in your headphones. The lyrics are raw and honest, and the music captures the energy we aim for in all of our songs."

:: Round-Up ::

With multiple singles already lined up and the band curating their own independent festival, On The Meadow, 2024 is set to be a big year for Emergency Break.
