On June 12th 2024, Monster Planet released their second single, Blinded. Touching on heartbreak and betrayal, the ethereal melancholy further expands their mashup of shoegaze and indie pop.

Monster Planet’s aesthetic is influenced by a kaleidoscopic palette of colours and artists, most notably Clairo, The Japanese House and Suki Waterhouse. Blending these iconic sounds, with a touch of timeless nostalgia, makes for something beautiful.

Previous tunes Somewhere In Between and Lover Girl are both impressive in their own right, but Blinded takes things up a notch creatively. It’s an illuminating track which has you singing along while holding back potential tears. This is one for newly single people, encouraging you to put away the ice cream and have a boogie.

Julia DeSimone, the person behind Monster Planet, explains: "Blinded captures the agony of heartbreak of being blindsided by the one you trusted most. Reflecting on the struggle to make sense of it all and the pain of betrayal, yet also the relief of finally seeing their true colors. Each lyric and melody captures this bittersweet journey of emotional turmoil and newfound clarity”.

:: Round-Up ::

We visited Monster Planet for Blinded and ended up staying for everything released so far. The world Julia DeSimone is crafting here, once you arrive, you won’t want to leave. This is a truly remarkable set of woozy, cloud-like tracks, and this is the best so far.
