CVC are back with a brand new single The Lowrider (Just About Meant To Be), premiering on BBC 6 Music. The track is an absolute floor-filler and breathes fresh life into the groovy 80s.

This single is the first new music since the release of their acclaimed debut album Get Real. Noticeably the biggest influences are The Bee Gees and Michael Jackson, weaving together an irresistible beat.

Co-songwriter and vocalist on the track Dave Bassey explains: “The Lowrider was written after a lengthy session in our old local (The City Arms in Cardiff) about my long-distance love and how we are ‘just about meant to be’! Then when we got home and hit the ‘bass’ setting on the synth - the rest of the song just poured out.”

CVC stands for Church Village Collective and have only recently finished a lengthy tour on the road. They also entered as an NME 100 hotly-tipped act last year, and you may have heard their tunes blasting through your playlists.

Their latest offering feels soaked in honey, shimmering and glowing with an optimistic sound. To celebrate the release, CVC has announced four headline dates in Glasgow, Leeds, Oxford and Cardiff this December. These are not to be missed. Pick-up tickets from 13th September.

The Lowrider (Just About Meant To Be) is out now. Give it a spin.
