Weekly Roundup #6

Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.

Another week, another roundup. Basht kick-off their EP campaign with Gone Girl and Catfish And The Bottlemen return after two members departed from the band.

Gone Girl - Basht

We’ve been waiting a long time for new singles from Basht, possibly one of the most exciting upcoming bands of recent years. The boys have been touring extensively and now it’s time to lay their cards on the table with a debut EP, the first single being ‘Gone Girl’.

Described by the band as ‘energetic, intense and passionate’ this single sets the tone for what’s to come. Catch our review & interview with the band tomorrow.

Your Apartment - Wallows

Wallows have returned, bigger than ever. Taking the sound crafted for album no.2 (Tell Me That It’s Over) and elevating it to new heights. Your Apartment feels immediately timeless, with all the Wallows charm you’ve come to love over the years.

Showtime - Catfish And The Bottlemen

After two members departed the band, the remainder (Van and Benji) were quiet. That is until announcing a headline slot at Reading & Leeds this year, and now here they are, storming back with Showtime. It’s classic Catfish, lyrically and musically, preferring to stay in their conquered lane than step into the unknown. The only difference - there are no beefy guitar riffs, it’s a softer affair - think more Homesick than Pacifier. Catch our review now.

Messiah - Crawlers

Crawlers have been on a come-up for ages, and their recent debut album is quite spectacular. Blending dark storytelling with alt-rock, they find themselves on a rise that’s set to take over the world. One of our favourites from The Mess We Seem To Make currently is Messiah, opening up about insecurities, drugs and self-destruction.

Escaping From A Violent Time - Bad Sounds

It’s dreamy, blissful and catchy. It could only be Bad Sounds. Taking a beat reminiscent of ABC by The Jackson 5, Bad Sounds dreams of a great escape from everything wrong with the world (and its media). Get this into your playlists - the perfect way to ooze out of Winter.

Now, it’s your turn. Give it a spin, and tell us what you think on Insta or X.

See you next week!
