Weekly Roundup #8

Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.

Another week, another roundup. This week, there’s a huge release from new Kleio, Formal Socks return and swim school makes everyone cry.

Yoko - Kleio

New indie kids on the block, Kleio, have dropped another single. ‘Yoko’ follows the formula of many big-hitter tunes in the early 00’s; killer melodies, fiery choruses and observational narratives. This is a song you can play at full volume and headthrash harder than ever. For a band this early in their career, ‘Yoko’ is a stomping entry onto the scene, and one leaving us wanting more from the upcoming quartet.

Head Underwater - Corella

Is it festival season yet? Regardless of the answer, you’ll be feeling the Summer vibes with Corella’s massive new single, ‘Head Underwater’. Those huge riffs are the reason these boys are one of the hottest indie-rock bands right now. In keeping with their signature style, this is another step towards the long-awaited debut album. Crank it up, it’s a banger.

Downtown - Formal Socks

After covering debut track, ‘Beach House’, back in June 2023, it’s amassed over 100,000 listens (on Spotify alone). Since then, we’ve been waiting patiently for a follow-up, and now it’s here, wrapped up in good vibes. ‘Downtown’ is immediately uplifting, catchy and dreamy. Their clever mash-up of genres, in similar fashion to easylife, is making them an exciting new band to watch. Join the fun while it’s early.

To Grow - swimschool

Heartbreaking, mesmerising and dreamy as per. swimschool are back with follow-up to ‘Give Me A Reason Why’, this one’s called ‘To Grow’. With an almost sold-out tour on the horizon, this track will certainly be commanding phone flashlights. More laid-back than before, don’t be surprised when you cry.

Adored - Royel Otis

If you haven’t listened to Royel Otis’ new album yet, what are you doing? After their cover of ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ went viral, this band has been doing the rounds on social media. If anything this surge in popularity is long-overdue, after packing out festival tents last year. One of our favourites off their latest work is ‘Adored’; it’s indie pop at its best, with more subsance and experimentation than most.

Now, it’s your turn. Give it a spin, and tell us what you think on Insta or X.

See you next week!
