Creatures In Heaven - Glass Animals
After Glass Animals unexpectadly took the world by storm with late-bloomer Dreamland, they’ve built a following on a global stage. They re-released the album twice, but what people really wanted was fresh music. And in 2024, here they are.
Creatures In Heaven is Glass Animals at the top of their game, using their proven dreamy formula to articulate mesmerising narratives. Are they chasing another Heatwaves? Knowing the four-piece, they’re just doing what they love.
Vultures - Feeder
Feeder’s latest effort Black / Red completes a trilogy of albums joined to 2022’s UK Top 5 album Torpedo. It’s their first double album and comes united by muscular riffs, sky-scraping melodies and heartfelt sentiment.
One of the highlights is Vultures, a Royal-Blood homage. The dark and twisted riff swirling around the melody is something to note and proves Feeder are still one of the most prominent UK bands on the rock scene. Even 20 years later.
2nd Prettiest Girl (In The World) - Lauran Hibberd
‘You can still rock and have irritable bowel syndrome’ is Lauran’s tagline. Not something we’ve heard before, but the non-serious and humorous nature of the line alone is why her rise to indie-notoriety has been so fast. Releasing her second record, the biggest influence here is Avril Lavigne.
Fusing the playful singalong melodies from the 90s - and there’s no better example than 2nd prettiest girl. An alt-rock anthem about a date that didn’t go quite so well.
She Plays The Theremin - Balancing Act
Hailing from Manchester, Balancing Act fast became known for their energetic and super-charged live performances. They’re still relatively new on the scene, but each track is better than before, with the standout recently being She Plays The Theremin.
An intricate riff, blended with Kings Of Leon vocals makes it an exciting track to play on repeat. Just because it’s 2024, doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy the fun of the early 00’s, right?
Too Much - Girl In Red
If you haven’t heard, Girl In Red has a new album dropping on 12th April 2024. To hype up the launch, there have been three singles in quick succession, with the staple being Too Much.
There’s a clear progression in sound from what came before, it sounds like the perfect pairing between Clairo and interestingly Zara Larsson.
While more pop-centric than previously, we’re excited to see what’s next for the popular rising star.
