Weekly Roundup #48

Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.

Another week, another roundup. What are you spinning?

Long Shadows - The Lathums

Wigan-heroes The Lathums are preparing for their next huge album launch, due in March 2025. New single ‘Long Shadows’ takes inspiration from The Smiths and Arctic Monkeys, and is another soon-to-be indie hit, following suit of their previous successful albums.

Be Good To Yourself - Overpass

Overpass have been making strides on the scene for a while now, and it’s about time they had the opportunity for a debut album - which is now on the horizon. ‘Be Good To Yourself’ follows their popular take on indie rock and doubles down on their ambitions.

Open Wide - Inhaler

Inhaler have released the second single (and title track) of their upcoming record. Following ‘Your House’, the new music leans even further into synth-pop and more nuanced indie rock, implying the Dublin quartet have so much more up their sleeve.

Wild Long Lie - Sam Fender

Another beautiful offering from Sam Fender, taken straight from his highly anticipated third album ‘People Watching’. While not necessarily a huge departure from his sophisticated Springsteen sound, the influence from The War On Drugs is noticeable and much appreciated.

So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings - Blossoms

Blossoms are keeping ‘Gary’ alive with another influential cover. It’s safe to say Blossoms are firmly at their best in this orange tinted era. Maybe it’s their renewed sense of creative freedom to try new things, or an acknowledgement of where they’re at in their career. This one’s worth a listen.
