Praised for their raw energy and catchy-guitar-driven melodic punch, The Thing has quickly become the torchbearers of the NYC rock scene. The band have a busy 2025 ahead, after dropping double-singles Can You Help Me? and Family Business, ahead of an enormous third album on the horizon.

Can You Help Me? is the first track from their discography where all three verses are sung by different band members, which you may have seen at their live shows before. Sonically, it’s a bolder sound than ever before and leans into a Jagger-like direction from the Stones in the 60’s.

Frontman Zane Acord shared, “The inspiration behind ‘Can You Help Me?’ stems from the feeling of discontentment when you have other people do things for you. Whether it is having other people ‘give you a song’ or control your thoughts and life.”

The other side comes from Family Business, with guitarist Michael Carter saying “This song has a new sound to it that we haven't gotten into before — it’s a little more angular and a little more dry.”

The Thing will be hitting up Europe/UK over the next few months to support the singles and their looming third album. Tickets are on sale now.
