Last week, Courting announced their third album, ‘Lust for Life, Or: ‘How To Thread The Needle And Come Out The Other Side To Tell The Story’, will be landing on 14th March 2025 via Lower Third. This new effort marks an impressive three albums in three years, which is an unhinged work ethic from one of the freshest bands in indie.

Since 2019, Liverpool’s Courting hasn’t slowed down. Some would say, they’ve probably not even slept, with the amount of music they’re able to drop. For fans, there are never any complaints, as this is a band that seemingly has endless talent up their sleeves.

After exploring the grand theatrical style of New Last Name, their upcoming record shifts towards a ‘stripped-back and direct approach’.

Vocalist Sean Murphy-O-Neill explains: “We wanted to keep everything incredibly direct - to hit everyone in the face and leave.” The album may be a new direction but is said to retain Courting’s unique wit, comedy and easter eggs.

The debut single ‘Pause At You’ is a first introduction to the new era and takes inspiration from everything released so far. Murphy-O-Neill continues: “It’s an observation on night time paranoia mixed about with night-out ecstasy. Light outing, floor-filling, tie undressing, rock."

To coincide with the announcement, Courting have announced a UK tour in 2025:

  • 15th March - Leeds - Dark Arts at Belgrave Music Hall

  • 31st March - Newcastle, The Grove

  • 1st April - Glasgow - SWG3 (Warehouse)

  • 3rd April - Nottingham - The Bodega

  • 4th April - Manchester - Gorilla

  • 5th April - Sheffield - Yellow Arch Studio

  • 7th April - Bristol - Thekla

  • 8th April - Birmingham - Mama Roux's

  • 9th April - London - Oslo

We caught their intimate set at Birmingham’s The Rainbow earlier this year and described it as ‘the most fun we’ve had at a concert in a while’.

Grab tickets to their new tour, while you still can.
