Hailing from Manchester, Ellysse Mason has recently released her sophomore EP Wish The World Was Ending. Embodying a 90’s sound, crunchy guitars and beautiful production, she’s cementing her position in the indie-pop landscape.

The EP was released on 28th August and was backed by a string of successful singles including Cry Baby and Blowing Smoke. These have become fan favourites, praised for candid lyricism and a genre-bending sound. The latter features Callum Spencer, a rising artist in his own right, with a similar vocal strength to the likes of Tom Grennan.

Wonderland said the EP serves up ‘the sounds of a true heartbreak’, echoed by Rolling Stone India who added it’s ‘captivating a sense of emotion with her poignant lyrics.’ We share the sentiment and fell in love with the number of genres found in any given moment, taking influence from Suki Waterhouse and Holly Humberstone.

Lyricism aside, the music itself now shines even more on the brand-new instrumental version, which was released this week. It’s gorgeously adapted and makes you feel as if you’re the main character in Ellysee’s story.

Wish The World Was Ending is out now. Give it a spin.
