On 2nd September 2024, Kid Brunswick announced DEADFOREVER, described as ‘the final Kid Brunswick EP’. The EP will be released on 6th September and come accompanied with merchandise.

The impending finale of Kid Brunswick has been lingering since May, after a spontaneous announcement thanking everyone for listening to his music and announcing final tour dates.

The DEADFOREVER tour reached grassroots venues all across the UK, including Dundee, Glasgow, Newcastle, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Huddersfield, Stoke, Swansea, St Albans, Southampton, Tunbridge Wells, London and ending at Reading & Leeds Festival.

When Collide dropped in February, many believed a new era was on the horizon for Kid Brunswick. It was to be the lead single from The Fall: Part II, a long-awaited follow-up to a concept project that started in May 2023. The Fall: Part I featured massive singles Blow and Heaven Without You, which were shelved while the young artist cut ties with his label.

In conversation at the time, Kid Brunswick explained:

“The past year I’ve been getting new music ready and spending a lot of time in America. I’ve started collaborating more with people, letting myself take somewhat of a backseat when it comes to doing everything myself. I’ve met some great people out here in the states and I’m currently making the best music I could ever have hoped to make.’

Whether this is all part of a master plan, or there was a change of direction, the result is clear. Kid Brunswick will soon be finished.

Speculation is in the air as to what will come next for Harry James, who is currently 25 years old. The project may be re-launched under a new name, with ‘Kid Brunswick’ becoming an era, or he may jump into an entirely new direction. Only time will tell.

Turning our attention to the artwork, fans will notice a nod to his debut album (XFOREVER). This time Kid Brunswick is on what appears to be life-support. This feels fitting after a difficult few years for the artist and is the biggest indication this may be a re-brand to re-claim his identity.

The tracklist for DEADFOREVER is currently unknown. The unreleased track Apesh*t is a likely candidate, alongside Out Of Style.

DEADFOREVER releases 6th September 2024, via Believe UK. Pre-save now.
